Descriptions, Prices and Information

When adding products to the website, we take care to describe and show items as accurately as possible. Despite this, slight variations in items may occur. We provide you with product information on or by our Customer Service telephone staff. If there is anything which you do not understand, or if you wish to obtain further information, please contact Customer Services.

All prices displayed are correct at time of entry, and what the law calls an "invitation to treat". You cannot insist that a shop sells you anything at a marked price, whether or not they have made a mistake. Under law, a retailer is entitled to decide the price he wants to charge for his goods. The price offered in respect of an item on the Griffin Battery Centres website may differ from the price offered at the same time in our stores. We are under no obligation to honour any in-store price or promotion in the event that it differs from those on the Griffin Battery Centres website.

If, by mistake, we have under priced an item, we will not be liable to supply that item to you at the stated price, provided that we notify you before we despatch the item to you. In those circumstances, we will notify the correct price to you so you can decide whether or not you wish to proceed with the order. If you decide not to order the item, we will give you a full refund on any amount already paid for that item in accordance with our refund policy.

We strive to ensure that all of our batteries are in the correct categories but mistakes sometimes happen so if you are unsure whether the battery you are ordering fits the vehicle you require please call us in advance of ordering to confirm.  We can not be held responsible for orders of incorrect batteries although we will do our best to help rectify the issue.

To purchase from the Griffin Battery Centres website, you must setup a website user account. This is simple to do, allows you to keep track of your purchases, and ensures a positive buying experience.

You will need to enter a valid email address which we can contact you on, and provide a password. We ask you to keep this secure - our staff do not have access to see this. If you forget your password, you can reset it.

Do I need to charge my Motorcycle Battery when I receive it?

When you receive your battery and you are filling it up with acid, you will feel the battery get warm, this is the battery charging itself and it should be ready to go after half an hour. Even though the battery is ready to go after half an hour we still recommend that you to charge it up on a low charge for about 1 hour before you use it.

My battery seems to have stopped working / performing

All the batteries we supply are manufactured to a high standard and the majority to OE standard. As a result we experience very few faults, if you are experiencing starting problems we would advise you to have the electrics tested by an auto electrician before returning the battery. When can I expect my order to arrive?

All orders received and confirmed as in stock before 3pm Monday-Friday will be dispatched the same day and will usually be with you within 48 hours. Any orders placed on Saturday or Sunday will be dispatched on the Monday. Please take into account that bank holidays such as Easter and Christmas will prolong delivery. Postage Costs

Postage costs only apply to orders where the battery needs to be dispatched by a pallet. The majority of our batteries come with free delivery.

If you need your battery sooner then our website states please contact our customer service team on 0845 331 3311 and we will see if this can be arranged. It could be that we could deliver your battery with one our our vechiles.


My item has not arrived yet!

99% of all our customers receive their batteries within the agreed timescales. Unfortunately, on the odd occasion parcels can go missing but this is very rare. If you have any concerns please contact customer services on: 0845 331 3311 who will be happy to help. All products dispatched will have their own specific tracking number. As car batteries are often an emergency/cold weather product please bear in mind that if we are experiencing severe weather conditions, particularly snow, the delivery of your battery is likely to take longer.

Can I collect my battery?

If you order a Motorcycle battery or any of our range of leisure batteries these are available in stock and available to collect in store.

All our car batteries are supplied from our centralized warehouse and are not available in store. We do not stock the Griffin 1982 car range in store, our stores operate under our Endurance brand. We have a full range of Endurance car and commercial batteries in store, these are not on our website and have a different pricing structure. If you wish to purchase our Endurance products in store please quote website 399 and you will receive a 10% discount on the in store price.

What couriers do you use?

We use a number of Logistic companies to deliver our products including the Post Office, City Link, DHL and a local courier service.

Do you have tracking numbers for all your items?

Yes all parcels can be tracked and have individual tracking numbers, please contact our Customer Service on: 0845 331 3311 if you require your tracking number.

Pay via our website

Can I pay by cheque

Yes, please contact us via telephone first, and we will give you all the information you need to get going.

If you ring us, this allows us to put your battery to one side while the cheque is in the post.

When paying via cheque, please remember we have to receive the cheque and wait for the cheque to clear before we can send any items out.

Can I pay by bank transfer

Can I pay cash?

You can come into our stores and pay cash.

One of Griffin's main areas of specialty is the refurbishment of batteries and battery packs. We have over 25 years of knowledge and experience and an invaluable library containing detailed information on batteries, battery packs, layout and configurations. However there are few batteries or battery packs we cannot refurbish. Please take into account that until we receive the battery it will be difficult to give an exact quotation but rest assured it will be competitive and the turnaround will be quick.
